Human Resources Generalist
Design Foundry is a premier event design and décor company based in Landover, MD, known for creating extraordinary, immersive experiences for corporate, social, and private events. Overview Your compensation will be based on your skills and experience. Pay range:
$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
(base only, benefits are additional). The role is on‑site in Landover, MD.
Griffin Resources is recruiting on behalf of Design Foundry for this position.
Work Schedule In Office:
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance:
Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, apply company policies fairly, support documentation, and engage with leadership or external HR advisors on complex issues; maintain knowledge of employment regulations.
Payroll & Benefits Administration:
Execute payroll accurately using Gusto, assist with benefits coordination and enrollment, utilize Connecteam for PTO tracking.
Performance & Policy Management:
Support managers with performance management and policy enforcement; coordinate annual reviews.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
Support recruiting efforts, schedule interviews, assist with onboarding.
Employee Engagement & Communication:
Build trust and positive relationships, act as HR liaison.
Qualifications
5+ years of HR experience in a generalist capacity handling employee relations, compliance, payroll, and benefits.
Strong conflict resolution skills.
Hands‑on experience with HRIS systems and payroll platforms; Gusto required, Connecteam integration preferred.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
Ability to enforce policies consistently while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
