About the Role Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join the HR team. This role is responsible for leave administration as well as assisting with the administration of all healthcare plans and benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, and the 401(k) plan. An ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of employee benefits and Human Resources.

What You’ll Do

Process and administer all leave of absence requests (medical, personal, and FMLA) and disability paperwork with assistance of outside vendor, while communicating with payroll team on any impact to employee pay

Effectively interpret and ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, including, but not limited to Affordable Care Act, COBRA, leave laws, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.

Develop and coordinate annual financial planning seminar schedule

Coordinate 401(k) new‑hire quarterly trainings and rollovers

Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries

Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes

Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information

Assist with the open enrollment process

Assist with employee changes and process life status changes

Assist with ACA compliance and year‑end filings

Assist with the administration of the AAA Roadside Assistance company perk

Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determine eligibility

Monitor and complete compliance reporting deadlines

Perform periodic quality checks of benefits‑related data

Assist with quality audits of monthly benefits bills and benefits‑related data, as needed

Assist with wellness initiatives

Perform other related duties and projects as required and assigned

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

2‑3 years experience in HR, leave and/or benefits administration

Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws

Excellent organizational, time management and critical thinking skills

Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems will be a plus

Excellent communication and people skills

Aptitude in problem‑solving

Desire to work as a team with a results‑driven approach

Strong attention to detail
