Arkansas Children’s, in partnership with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric surgeon at the assistant or associate professor level to be based in Little Rock. Successful candidates will join the state’s only pediatric health system and play a key role in shaping the future of children’s health in our region.

Surgery Program & Position Highlights

Join a dynamic team at ArkansasChildren’s of six surgeons and numerous advanced practice providers and specialty nurses, providing nationally ranked and recognized care to patients statewide and regionally.

Join both the divisions of pediatric surgery and pediatric critical care, with a priority for expanding surgical critical care services to match growing patient acuity.

A new outpatient surgery building opening in 2026, featuring advanced operating rooms, a dedicated post anesthesia care unit and on-site sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.

The state’s only Level I and Level IV pediatric trauma centers, Level IV NICU, pediatric ICU and burn center.

Nationally accredited pediatric transport program, emergency and surgical services.

Comprehensive specialty and primary care.

Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, which provides infrastructure for clinical and basic science research.

ACGME-accredited pediatric surgery fellowship.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Successfully completed general surgery residency.

ACGME-accredited pediatric surgery fellowship.

ACGME-accredited surgical critical care fellowship.

American Board of Surgery certified or eligible in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery and Surgery Critical Care.

Strong interest in growing a clinical practice.

Commitment to research, resident and fellow education and surgical quality.
