Program Design Roads to Success (RTS) facilitates a variety of youth programs including after‑school, summer camps, retreats, conferences and summer employment opportunities reaching thousands of young people throughout NYC each year. RTS emphasizes the youth development practice of the Circle of Courage in all our programs; creating an environment of Belonging, where young people can build their Independence, find and develop their Mastery skill, and practice Generosity in their communities. At the core of our programs are staff training strategies that enable our young professionals to develop extraordinarily meaningful relationships with the young people in their care who we call Our Future Leaders because that is what they all are.

Primary Function The Job Developer’s goal in this role is to build community relations and internship opportunities, by successfully matching the areas of interest expressed by the participants served. The candidate will also be responsible for connecting internal opportunities and events with community partners. Candidates must have a strong understanding of the local labor market trends and issues, understand basic business practices and carry out assignments and projects without detailed instruction.

Organizational Role Supervisor: Program Manager

Supervises: N/A

Hours: Full‑time Monday‑Friday

Compensation: $50k‑$55k based on experience

Essential Functions

Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create internship opportunities

Meet regularly with various hiring managers/CBO liaisons to promote community engagement

Stay engaged with internship sites, to ensure successful completion of the program cycle

Develop internships in a diverse range of employment fields to match students’ interests, skills, maturity levels and experience

Collaborate across all team efforts to ensure youth placements, including YEPS processing

Ensure that all pre‑assessment documents are collected and processed

Lead orientation sessions for new and repeating worksites

Support with hosting job fairs across all contracts

Conduct community outreach to assure awareness of internship needs

Follow up on participants’ progress/success

Maintain computerized and hard copy audit documents

Prepare statistical program reports to show trends to support growth opportunities

Maintain a professional working environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred

Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, social services, or a related field

Deep understanding of public benefit programs

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in data management and reporting systems

Experience in crisis intervention and support

Working Conditions

Work takes place in one or more school buildings, which may require climbing stairs

Typical job hours are 9 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday, and events will take place during occasional nights and weekends

Travel via public transportation or car may be required throughout NYC

Comprehensive management which includes assessing needs, planning services, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes to ensure effective support for families

Create and nurture a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that prioritizes the safety and emotional well‑being of all participants

Efficiently manage operational systems

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring that the program remains connected and relevant

Adapt to changing environments and needs, fostering innovation and engagement through change leadership

Represent the program, its participants, staff, and families at various levels, advocating for their needs and the program’s success
