5‑story, state‑of‑the‑art multi‑specialty hospital spanning 380,000 sq ft. Open to 102 beds, expandable to 300 at full build‑out. 9 advanced ORs including a hybrid OR. Comprehensive services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, and surgery.

Job Summary Monitor Tech is responsible for continuous monitoring, interpretation, communication, and documentation of cardiac rhythms.

Responsibilities

Monitor and review patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.

Demonstrate competency in telemetry lead placement for accurate cardiac rhythm analysis.

Analyze cardiac rhythm, record measurements, calculations, and interpretation every 6 hours and PRN per protocols.

Notify Registered Nurse of rhythm changes and follow escalation protocol.

Notify Registered Nurse if patient is off monitor and follow protocol.

Maintain current knowledge of the technical operation of the central monitoring station.

Set and verify high/low alarm settings for every telemetry patient each shift.

Give/accept shift reports to provide current patient information.

Coordinate initiation and discontinuation of telemetry with nursing personnel.

Identify and troubleshoot routine technical problems with central monitoring system and initiate biomedical repairs as necessary.

Continuously advance knowledge of cardiac rhythm analysis and interpretation.

Protect patient confidentiality and sensitive data (PHI) at all times.

Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA and state/local standards.

Safeguard electronic equipment—keep liquids away from computers, telemetry monitors, phones.

Maintain a conducive physical environment for continuous telemetry monitoring (noise reduction, minimal foot traffic).

Answer telephone promptly and courteously.

Support new ideas, promote positive change, remain calm during stressful situations.

Attend staff meetings and meet mandatory education requirements.

Demonstrate commitment to service, organizational values and professionalism at all times.

Enthusiastically support and participate in planned changes.

Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned.

Utilize time and resources effectively and efficiently.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

Monitor technician with prior related experience AND passed ECG competency assessment: must pass Rhythm Test with grade ≥84%. If

Monitor technician without prior related experience: must complete basic ECG course and pass Rhythm Test within 60 days with ≥84%.

Licensure / Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Health Care provider certification required.
