Metals Equipment Technician - Nights Samsung Semiconductor – Austin, TX

Position Summary Working as an Equipment Technician in the Metals group, you will perform functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, including setting up and calibrating equipment, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documentation following SOPs, and performing rework and quality testing related to memory and logic chip production.

Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data, conduct in‑line adjustments, and assist in developing methods to control or modify the manufacturing process. Compliance with health, safety and environmental guidelines is required.

Role and Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance (PM), change point management (CPM), and system maintenance following SOPs to ensure equipment/processes run effectively.

Troubleshoot failures, analyze root causes, and follow scripts to anticipate future issues.

Monitor equipment and processes, proactively identifying improvement opportunities.

Work in a team environment and communicate effectively throughout the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

Any 2‑year technical certification (TTI, ITT, Trade Cert, HVAC, etc.) or 3+ ASE certifications, or 4 years of semiconductor technician experience (or equivalent technical military service).

Familiarity with SPC methods and implementation.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, continuous‑improvement environment.

Familiarity with TPM concepts.

Strict adherence to SOPs.

Ability to work off‑hours if necessary.

Electro‑mechanical aptitude, basic hand‑tool, pneumatics, and electrical knowledge.

Compensation and Benefits The current base salary range is $18.60 to $60.40 per hour. Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package and may include incentive programs.

Night Shift Schedule B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.) with alternating Saturdays.

D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.) with alternating Saturdays.

Eligibility All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require on‑site presence. Current and future visa sponsorship is not accepted.
