Position Summary As a Samsung Austin Semiconductor Etch Equipment Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set‑up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, and performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic.

You will use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in‑line adjustments, and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Compliance with all health, safety, and environmental management system guidelines is required.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance (PM)/Change Point Management (CPM)/System Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures to ensure equipment, processes, and systems are running effectively.

Troubleshooting: Conduct failure analysis and follow scripts to troubleshoot and anticipate future failures.

Monitor Equipment/Process: Monitor equipment and processes in the current state and proactively look for ways to improve processes.

Teamwork and Communication: Work well in a team environment and communicate effectively throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Any 2‑year technical certification (TTI, ITT, Trade Cert, HVAC, etc); 3+ ASE certs or 4 years semiconductor technician experience (no cert, passes test) or 4 years equivalent technical military service.

Familiarity with SPC methods and implementation.

Highly capable in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to procedure changes.

Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Focused on continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Familiar with TPM concepts.

High attention to detail, task‑oriented, and value customer service, teamwork, and flexibility.

Ability to meet due dates for action items.

Strict adherence to SOPs.

Ability to work off‑hours if necessary.

Electro‑mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.

All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite. We are not currently accepting applications for candidates who will need visa sponsorship.

Salary The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60/hour and $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs based on performance.

Day Shifts

A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45 am – 7:15 pm) with alternating Wednesdays.

C Shift – Thursday through Saturday (6:45 am – 7:15 pm) with alternating Wednesdays.
