What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software
Monitor database performance and implement solutions to optimize efficiency
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery procedures
Manage database security and troubleshoot database-related issues
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and optimize queries
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Proven expertise in Oracle administration, including RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning
Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication and performance tuning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
Experience with database backup and recovery strategies and tools (e.g., RMAN for Oracle, pg_dump/pg_restore for Postgres)
