Supervisor of Copper Splicing
V C I Construction is looking for a Supervisor of Copper Splicing to lead a team in the preparation, splicing, and enclosing of copper and telecommunications plants. The role requires strong knowledge of telecommunications network structures and significant experience with copper.
Responsibilities
Supervise all operations to ensure that splicing projects are completed according to customer and industry specifications.
Ensure all needed tools and equipment are available at the job site, work from engineered blueprints, and keep track of production.
Supervise, train, and develop a team of copper splicers.
Control and oversee the work of splicing teams, maintaining safety as a priority.
Fill out daily production reports, mark‑up maps, keep track of work hours, and complete as‑built maps for built areas.
Reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts.
Perform quality control inspections by reviewing work completed by employees and subcontractors.
Maintain and enforce company, federal, and state rules and regulations, such as non‑discriminatory practices, payroll, and overtime guidelines.
Administer correct disciplinary actions and prepare supporting documentation to address employee performance and/or behavioral issues.
Willing to work nights, weekends by phone and/or in person.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
18 years of age or older.
Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
Valid driver’s license.
5–7 years of relevant experience; 4‑year degree preferred.
Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
Advanced analytical, project management, and communication skills.
Effective leadership of team efforts, providing recommendations, giving presentations, etc.
Verifiable evidence of experience in the construction or related fields.
Ability to perform necessary equipment installation.
Pass background and drug screen requirements.
Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
Other duties as assigned.
