Job Description
Greer Stop Nut has an immediate opening for an experienced
Plant Maintenance Technician
to assist with maintaining equipment and facilities for our 90,000 square foot manufacturing plant located just off of Nolensville Pike near the Nashville Zoo. This is a full time day shift position with the opportunity for some overtime.
In this role, the Plant Maintenance Technician will provide planned and unplanned maintenance and repair to a variety of manufacturing equipment such as presses, CNC and manual machining equipment, large air compressors, and other devices used in the plant.
Candidates should have some prior experience servicing and repairing a variety of large manufacturing machines and a solid level of general maintenance skills.

Primary Functions
Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns, swiftly identify faults, and efficiently problem‑solve to minimize production downtime repairs on various types of equipment including CNC lathes, Screw Machines, Tapping equipment, industrial presses, hydraulic lines, and various pumps.
Perform common maintenance tasks that include, but are not limited to mechanical, lubrication, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
Resolve general maintenance items within the plant related to lighting, plumbing, painting, and material moving.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Reporting and Feedback: Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management, promoting a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Assist in the development of PPM schedules, carry out PPM activities as necessary, and provide feedback to enhance the effectiveness of the maintenance system.
Machine Handling and Installation: Support the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment as required.
Analyze spare parts requirements and identify obsolete or excess spare parts.
Practice good housekeeping in the shop and at the job site.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including the company's attendance policy.
Responds quickly and professionally to the needs of production.
Maintains company tools and equipment to ensure availability and serviceability.
Experience & Education
Minimum of 2 prior years of experience in repair/maintenance of industrial production machinery, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on a variety of manufacturing equipment.
Experience in CNC machine maintenance and PLC programming and repair is strongly preferred.
Experience in robotic maintenance is a plus.
High School diploma or GED is expected.
Knowledgeable of hazardous material handling protocols, OSHA safety standards, and NEC (National Electrical Code).
