Overview of the Position Assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts by using a variety of precision measurement tools and methods, and providing feedback and recommendations to engineers regarding part features, drawing layout and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) usage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts

Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans

Perform special projects or assignments to support department

Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines

Create dimensional data reports in Excel

Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved

Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns

Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage

Navigate Siemens Teamcenter PLM software

Computer skills using Windows and MS Office Suite

Possess knowledge of ANSI 14.5 GD&T standards and concepts

Ability to work with only occasional supervision and training

Requirements Education / Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in technical field preferred

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Is frequently required to talk or listen.

Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel.

Is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 10 pounds.

Works in moderate noise levels.
