Lead, Proactive Trust & Safety Operations at Snap Inc. We’re looking for a Lead to join our proactive Trust & Safety Operations team at Snap. Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on helping people express themselves and have fun together. The Trust & Safety (T&S) Team protects Snapchatters from content that violates our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines while embodying our values of Kind, Smart, and Creative. We’re seeking a candidate who can provide operational support for Snap’s proactive harm and abuse detection framework, build and improve processes, and work cross-functionally with Public Policy, Product, and Engineering teams. What you’ll do
Provide operational support for Snap’s proactive harm and abuse detection framework and assist the larger T&S team as needed. Maintain composure under pressure and collaborate across Public Policy, Product, and Engineering teams. Build and improve processes with a hands-on, innovative approach to keeping Snapchatters safe. Become a subject matter expert in Snap’s proactive detection tools and services, and own projects from start to finish. Develop and maintain proactive detection rules. Identify trends and patterns by reviewing reported content and conducting outside research. Anticipate project risks, negotiate with decision makers, and balance business needs with technical constraints. Develop and conduct training for other T&S team members. Recommend tooling and process improvements to enhance the team’s work. Ensure new product and workflow launches are properly planned for and supported. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to communicate Proactive Trust & Safety priorities and back them with strong data. Serve as a consultative partner to the vendor team and provide subject matter expertise for processing all types of proactive detection requests with high quality and efficiency. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Comfort working within a content moderation environment, including exposure to sensitive content. Ability to problem-solve independently and with peers, structuring ambiguous challenges into actionable plans. Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing large data sets and providing insights via data visualization tools (e.g., Advanced Excel, Looker, Grafana). Understanding of computer logic and syntax. Familiarity with machine learning and/or computer vision. Experience working with cross-functional teams and management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills appropriate for all organizational levels. Ability to prioritize, focus, and thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs. Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions with imperfect information. Experience working with product and engineering teams to develop tools and solutions that improve trust across a platform or product. Ability to work flexible hours, including rotational weekends on-call. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or 4 years of practical experience in lieu of a degree. 5+ years of experience working with technical cross-functional groups and technology (e.g., machine learning or related fields) to investigate and resolve on-platform safety issues. 1+ years of leadership experience. Ability to work rotating weekends on-call as needed. Preferred Qualifications
