The Shift Leader role is an entry level leadership position with great opportunities for growth and advancement within our restaurant. It includes the opportunity to work towards ownership in your own Culver's restaurant through the Culver's Mentee Program.

Job Summary Culver's Shift Leaders are natural leaders and role models for the entire True Blue Crew. They ensure that the restaurant runs efficiently every shift, maintain excellent guest service, and ensure operational control. In doing so, they motivate and enable the True Blue Crew to serve in a way that reaches our goal: We genuinely care, so that every guest who chooses Culver's leaves happy.

Essential Functions

Runs shifts effectively to ensure quality products, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness meet system standards.

Consistently ensures guests receive quality products in five minutes or less for in‑house orders and four minutes or less for drive‑through orders.

Ensures proper product quality control, presentation and hold times according to the Operations Training Manual.

Maintains shelf life, first‑in‑first‑out inventory rotation, and accurate inventory records.

Performs restaurant opening and closing procedures effectively.

Monitors and coaches the team on safety best practices related to the hazard communication program and workplace safety.

Demonstrates and maintains a positive attitude among team members.

Empowers the team to handle guest comments the Culver's way.

Ensures team is knowledgeable concerning products and guest service.

Ensures proper personal hygiene and food safety practices.

Ensures adherence to uniform and appearance standards.

Demonstrates proficiency on all restaurant positions.

Maintains and monitors food and labor costs.

Administers team member breaks according to federal and state legal requirements.

Assists team members with mis‑punches, voids, discounts, and other managerial POS functions.

Prepares and reviews daily reconciliation reports against daily control totals from the cash register system for accuracy.

Runs financial reports, counts afternoon drawers, enters drawer pickups and completes daily deposits.

Attends all manager and team member meetings.

Ensures team is cross‑trained by the training team effectively.

Completes food inventory orders accurately, using forecasts and projections based on current restaurant sales.

Delegates and ensures the accurate completion of the Quality Control/Safe Food Checklist and first‑in‑first‑out product rotation.

Delegates restaurant and equipment cleaning.

Demonstrates positive and effective role modeling for all team members through appearance and attitude.

Follows and encourages the team to follow all restaurant policies and procedures consistently.

Ensures proper product waste documentation on every shift.

Uses radiant for cash counting procedures.

Runs daily POS labor reports.

Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

College Degree (Preferred)

Experience

Preferred experience in a restaurant managerial or supervisory position.

Guest‑service experience preferred.
