Switchboard is hiring an
Associate Data Engineer
on behalf of our client, Open Technology Solutions. We seek a SQL, data warehouse, and data lake specialist who builds, supports, and optimizes the data pipelines that enable reporting, analytics, and business operations. You will research, design, implement, and document best practices for data infrastructure—playing a crucial role in expanding the organization’s use of data as a strategic asset.
Responsibilities
Build, support, and optimize data pipelines using tools like FiveTran, dbt, and Python to move data to/from Snowflake, SaaS APIs, on‑prem databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and other data stores.
Support the design, modification, and implementation of data structures in Snowflake to support data ingestion, integration, and analytics.
Curate and transform data into appropriate structures for analytics and data science purposes using SQL, Python, SnowSQL, and transformation tools such as dbt.
Design and implement processes to automate monitoring and alerting on source data quality, data ingestion and transformation processes, and the overall health of our data infrastructure.
Create and produce technical documentation for data products, designs, and lineage.
Research, recommend, and implement new methods and tools to support or optimize data pipelines and processes for data ingestion, data storage, data transformation, data quality, and automation.
Requirements
2‑3 years of relevant data warehouse, business intelligence, and data engineering experience.
Experience with data pipeline design and automation.
Intermediate SQL knowledge and experience coding in Python.
Experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
Experience with advanced ETL/ELT tools administration (code deployment, security, setup and configuration).
Experience with enterprise ETL/ELT tools like Fivetran, dbt, Matillion or other similar ETL/ELT tools.>
Experience with BI platforms (Power BI, Qlik) preferred.
