Business Development Manager - Industrial
role. We are a fast‑paced, high growth organization dedicated to equipping humanity with technology and data. This position is remote/hybrid in the West‑Central U.S. region.
Responsibilities
Define strategies and execute a plan to compete, win market share, create new opportunities, and accelerate market growth across the industrial market, including semiconductor OEMs, LED OEMs, laser and photonics, display OEMs, and consumer electronics.
Disrupt the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that showcase Ocean Insight’s unique value proposition.
Become a trusted advisor, listening to, and understanding the customers true problems and help customers think through solutions, generating awareness and value around the Ocean brand.
Engage with industry experts, identify industry tradeshows and events, develop a target networking plan and define strategies to increase awareness of Ocean’s solutions.
Own business segment and review sales numbers (pricing, inventory, sales cycle, etc.).
Grow existing accounts to their full potential, meeting or exceeding all sales targets aligned to fiscal year priorities across revenue, focused on increasing margin.
Drive product and solution evolution working with engineering, product development and marketing teams, delivering customer commitments on time and on budget.
Maintain industry expertise, constantly upskilling and learning to stay ahead of market opportunities and capitalize on new programs and investments.
Value leads, aggressively follow‑up, pursue and close leads. Ensure accuracy and integrity of sales data is maintained in Salesforce and Oracle. Conversion is a critical component of success.

Qualifications
5+ years working experience in senior sales roles in the industrial markets described above.
Entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, willingness to challenge boundaries and explore the unknown.
Exceptional presentation skills and storytelling capability to deliver keynotes with large audiences.
Excellent planning, communication, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.
Active curiosity about the staff, culture, industry and value of the sales proposition.
Proven track record increasing market share, converting sales, and building lasting customer relationships in high‑tech markets.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, inspire and influence cross‑functional teams with independence and success.
Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertainty, and drive for clarity.
Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization, influencing culture and decisions.
Demonstrated critical thinking capacity while maintaining a holistic business view.
Strong bias for action, high sense of urgency and drive results.
High standard of ethics and integrity.
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Travel required.
