The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Responsibilities include verifying material against receiving documents, identifying discrepancies and damages, routing materials, and storing, stacking, or palletizing them according to prescribed methods. The role may also involve operating hand or power trucks, driving small to medium trucks for program needs, and performing general maintenance of tools and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and report deterioration or damage.

Remove material from storage, prepare it for shipment, and operate hand or power trucks as needed.

Verify materials against receiving documents, note discrepancies, and route to prescribed storage locations.

Store, stack, or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Assist with inventory, evaluation of general property, and operate company vehicles and material handling equipment.

Select storage location, record it on inventory worksheets, and forward appropriate paperwork to supervisor for review.

Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities including government‑furnished property.

Assist in remitting, transferring, and releasing property; support sales activities.

Pick up, transport, and deliver parts, material, equipment, and components to predetermined destinations.

Assist with loading and unloading of material being transported.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.

High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent training or experience.

Six to twelve months of job‑related experience and/or training.

Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government general‑purpose vehicle.

Ability to perform driving duties as requested, including overnight travel if required.

Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance if required.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards. Frequent lifting up to 20‑60 pounds, kneeling, standing, walking, and routine sitting. Requires constant use of speech/hearing for communication, constant mental alertness, planning and organizing skills, and the ability to work under deadlines.

Other Responsibilities

Safety: Continuously develop and maintain a safe work environment, complete all training requirements, and participate in emergency response tasks.

Quality: Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and perform job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.

Procedure Compliance: Read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies.

Hiring hourly rate of pay: $22.51 (Hourly rate set by SCA).

Benefits

This position is regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract.

Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be deposited to the employee’s 401(k) account on a quarterly basis.
