We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) License to lead roadway and highway development projects. This role involves managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding a team of engineers while collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage roadway/highway development projects from inception to completion
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality management plans
Coordinate with civil, traffic, environmental, and architectural teams
Manage subconsultants and multidisciplinary project teams
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Prepare and review project documentation including reports, invoices, and proposals
Facilitate project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Support business development efforts including proposal writing and client presentations
Mentor and coach team members through performance management and project debriefs
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an ABET‑accredited Civil Engineering program
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
5+ years of experience in roadway/highway design and project management
Strong knowledge of highway design standards, construction methods, and regulatory compliance
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and Open Roads Designer
Skilled in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software
Experience managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder communications
Familiarity with geotechnical engineering and environmental regulations
Preferred Experience
CAPM or PMP certification
Experience with local clients at the county and state levels
Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods (Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, P3)
Business development and proposal experience
