Food & Beverage Manager - Ascend Ampitheater
As the Manager of Food & Beverage, you'll lead the concession and beverage operations that fuel unforgettable experiences at our legendary music venue. You'll manage operations, oversee staffing, control inventory and costs, and maintain health and safety standards. In collaboration with venue leadership, you'll develop operational plans to drive revenue growth and financial performance. As the ideal candidate, you'll model teamwork, service, and integrity to foster a positive and productive work environment to deliver exceptional service to guests through unforgettable experiences. Reports to Venue Leadership.
Manage daily operations of concessions and beverage services throughout the venue for concerts and private events. Ensure operational expectations are met, including food quality and beverage presentation.
Maintain clean and orderly food service environments, following sanitation procedures required by health regulatory agencies. Maintain well‑stocked areas with appropriate signage and properly priced and displayed items.
Ensure exceptional guest service through proactive engagement. Respond to complaints, taking appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Manage all aspects of staffing, including hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance management, ensuring alignment with attendance projections and exceptional guest experience.
Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and company policies. Request proper ID per company policy.
Manage F&B purchasing and inventory based on business projections, ensuring proper storage, accurate documentation, timely invoice processing, and compliance with financial, audit, and inventory control procedures.
Track and analyze operational costs, staffing, and revenue performance. Generate reports and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions and improve efficiency.
Complete event paperwork for client invoicing and revenue reporting. Ensure timely reporting of billable labor for each event.
Participate in the development of plans for revenue growth, cost control, and operational improvement.
Communicate and uphold all corporate standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with regulations. Maintain personal integrity, support company principles, and follow brand SOPs. Participate in and respond to annual company audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Degree or equivalent experience preferred
Experience
3+ years' progressive hospitality or food & beverage management experience, preferably in a live event or entertainment venue
2+ years' supervisory experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to establish clear direction, set goals, monitor progress, and measure results
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and fluent with retail POS system functionality
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to support business needs
Licenses / Certifications
State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire
Certified Food Safety Manager certification required within 90 days of hire
Physical Requirements Speak and hear to communicate. Use near and distant vision. Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items. Frequently lifts/carry up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/carry up to 50 lbs. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi‑manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Working Conditions Restaurant/bar/live music environments, indoors and outdoors, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
