Overview The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Responsibilities
Manage integrated schedules for element (facility) projects
Track and analyze resources, including possible critical path development
Interface with flow management, project managers, engineering, shop, area integrators and other planners and schedulers to update the daily schedules and respond to changes and issues
Participate in daily telecom, scheduling and paper status/closure meetings
Manage multiple projects and priorities that pertain to operations support
Perform work control management process duties, including flight paper system management from inception to closure, working with Space Flight Engineering and Paper Closure Team
Use Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite and Maximo; experience with Milestone Professional may be needed
Qualifications Required: Bachelor's in a related degree field (e.g., Business, IT, Engineering) and at least three years of related experience; or at least seven years of experience in areas such as management analysis, schedule analysis, and project control functions.
Physical Requirements
Climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting
Climb ladders and platforms
Wear hearing protection, eye protection and other personal protective equipment
Possess ability to stand or sit for extended periods, work in tight confined spaces, and use stairs and remote structures
Work Environment
All work must be completed in a safe manner per NASA and Company safety standards
Work inside and outside of the test complex; travel to different areas on site daily; walk on uneven terrain
Equipment and Machines
Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance
Use office equipment: personal computer, scanner, copier, telephone, laser printer, fax machine and other supplies
Attendance
Work assignments are normally 8‑hour shifts, 5 consecutive days per week
Dependable and punctual
Occasional overtime may be required to meet a demanding schedule
Other Essential Functions
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident/Green Card holder is required if offered position
Clear, concise and accurate communication skills
Ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives
Government security clearance may be required in the future
Travel to support position requirements; includes airline travel; accommodations can be made for POV if necessary
Appropriate grooming and dress; no safety hazard
Maintain a positive work atmosphere; foster good relations
Valid CDL with endorsements; Florida driver’s license
Pass federal background investigation
Comply with drug‑free workplace requirements (drug testing)
