The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Project Manager within the Project Management Office (PMO) under the Ground Project Management group (D2410) – working on COMET Change Requests (CCR) and Engineering Service Requests (ESR).

Provide Project Management oversight and assist in all aspects of projects.

Assist with the management of project scope, risks, budgets and schedule changes.

Lead new project teams in support of COMET identified requirements and ensure project management standardization and resourcing across the COMET Project Portfolio.

Lead matrixed, cross‑functional teams.

Develop project schedules and perform resource loading throughout the project life‑cycle.

Prepare project artifacts including project planning, status reports, briefs, cost reporting, variances, forecasting, metrics, etc.

Host/facilitate project team meetings.

Coordinate project assessments and generate Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering with PM experience (5+ years minimum). Alternatively, candidates with a relevant four‑year degree, or technical equivalent along with PM experience and PMP certification will be considered.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and platforms.

Must wear hearing protection, eye protection and other personal protective equipment.

Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing and work in tight confined spaces.

Must be able to walk, stand, use stairs and access remote structures.

Work Environment

All work must be completed safely in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

Work may be inside and outside the test complex, and may require daily travel to different areas on site.

Walking on uneven terrain, paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.

Equipment and Machines

Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.

Use personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Attendance

Work assignments are normally 8‑hour shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.

Must be dependable and punctual.

Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedules.

Other Essential Functions

Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident/Green Card holder is required.

Maintain clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.

Work well with office staff and customer representatives.

Government security clearance may be required in the future.

Travel may be required, including airline travel; accommodations can be made for persons with special needs where possible.

Maintain appropriate grooming and dress; avoid safety hazards.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co‑workers, and management.

Maintain a valid CDL with Florida endorsements.

Pass a federal background investigation.

Comply with all drug-free workplace requirements as mandated by federal contracting officers and the company.
