Description
Senior Business Development professional to serve as key strategic partner for our Software vertical. In this individual contributor role, you will own the end-to-end strategy for our software content, covering key verticals such as Game Development Tools, Media Production, Education, and System Utilities. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy to source, negotiate, and close high-value partnerships that drive revenue and bring exciting new content to our customers.
For candidates in or near Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY, there may be a requirement to work out of our office locations on a hybrid basis. For all other candidates, this role will be remote. This is a full-time role with an expectation to be comfortable working outside of our standard working hours to attend industry events and for developer/publisher needs. Some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing and Deal Execution
Own the Pipeline: Independently identify, target, and engage with top-tier software developers and publishers to build a robust pipeline of content for bundles.
Complex Negotiations: Lead full-cycle deal execution, negotiating licensing terms, minimum guarantees, and revenue shares to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
Market Strategy: Act as the internal subject matter expert for the software vertical, identifying emerging trends and new product categories to expand our market reach.
Account Management and Growth
Portfolio Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key publisher accounts, maintaining strong relationships to ensure recurring participation and long-term retention.
Revenue Growth: Analyze past bundle performance and market data to identify opportunities for maximizing revenue and optimizing bundle composition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Merchandising Partnership: Collaborate deeply with the Merchandising and Marketing teams to design thematic bundle concepts that resonate with our specific audience segments.
Evangelism: Represent Humble Bundle at industry events and conferences to source new content and advocate for our platform and charitable mission.
Job Qualifications
The Must Haves:
5+ years of experience in business development, content acquisition, or strategic partnerships within the software industry.
Demonstrated success in independently negotiating and closing complex content or licensing deals.
Strong existing relationships with software developers and publishers (specifically in creative or utility software).
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal supervision, managing multiple deal cycles simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling pitch decks and presentations.
The Nice-to-Haves:
Deep familiarity with the 'Creator Economy' software stack, including Music Creation Tools, Live Streaming, Game Engines, and Audio/Video production software.
Proficiency in analyzing sales data to drive decision-making.
Experience working with digital distribution platforms or key-based marketplaces.

Compensation Range Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The total salary compensation for this role is $125,000 - $160,000.
