With hundreds of engineers in‑house, the company designs, manufactures, integrates, and installs the full spectrum of intralogistics solutions, including conveyor and sortation systems, voice‑directed and light‑directed order fulfillment equipment, controls and software, robotics, mezzanines, and structures.
We’re looking for an experienced buyer to join our team in Hobart, Indiana.
Position Summary The Buyer procures categories of assigned and sometimes unassigned commodities to maximize value and maintain production schedules. They perform varied administrative tasks in support of all purchasing requirements.
Ideal Candidate
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
Must be available to work on‑site daily in Hobart, Indiana
Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and reporting
Salary Range $55,000–$80,000
Responsibilities
Evaluates material requirements and determines best sourcing strategy
Places purchase orders and follows up with confirmations and deliveries
Responds to emergency requirements from various departments, including Logistics, Accounting, and Operations
Ensures return material authorizations are completed with vendors on time
Works effectively with vendors and co‑workers to maintain good relationships
Investigates and expands vendor base as appropriate
Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience; bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as buyer, preferably for an industrial equipment manufacturer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
Knowledge of vendor relationship management
Basic knowledge of negotiation tactics with a large base of suppliers
Computer skills including MS Office
