General purpose:

Supervise regular associates and temporary workers.

Assess production schedules and man‑hour requirements for completion of job assignments.

Interpret company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Enforce safety regulations.

Evaluate and assess production methods, performance, and efficiency for improvements.

Prepare associate performance evaluations and assist in the administration of reviews.

Determine time and production standards and maintain records.

Must have a "can‑do", "make‑it‑happen" attitude, demonstrated by perseverance and initiative to ensure top performance, quality, and service to our stores.

Essential Functions

Manage hourly team to ensure timely and accurate processing and distribution of merchandise to stores.

Use the MAP (Managing Associate Performance) process to train, assess, motivate, coach, and evaluate associates.

Ensure rapid, accurate movement and processing of merchandise using engineered methods and standards.

Organize and prioritize daily work orders and staffing needs to meet production goals.

Ensure accuracy/quality of work for all assigned Ross & temp associates.

Create an effective team culture that recognizes individual and team performance while maintaining an issue‑free environment.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other area supervisors, DC merchandise managers, and H.R.

Conduct daily huddle meetings to communicate important events and priorities.

Facilitate associate training/meetings on safety, H.R., new process orientation, and other subjects as required.

Enforce policies and safety regulations, providing appropriate positive and negative consequences.

Conduct disciplinary meetings regarding job performance and manage separation processes.

Manage all administrative tasks and functions for the responsible area.

Perform job applicant interviews and make hiring decisions.

Prepare associate evaluations and administer reviews with assistance of the DC merchandise manager.

Maintain daily paperwork, such as time and production/CP2 records.

Assist merchandise processors with paperwork, ticketing problems, and troubleshooting orders.

Provide updates to DC merchandise manager on production planning information and needs/problems.

Work on special projects as needed.

Attend and help plan special events planned for the team.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

BS degree or two years supervisory experience in a production or merchandising function (preferred).

Developed written and verbal communication skills, as well as organization/prioritization skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across multiple shifts/departments.

Physical Requirements/Ada Job requires ability to work in a warehouse environment, on a concrete floor all day.

Continuous standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling.

Reliable timeliness and regular attendance.

Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, talking, hearing; handling objects with hands and lifting to 50 lbs.

Vision: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires full‑time in‑office presence to engage in in‑person team interaction, meetings, collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and feedback.

Supervisory Responsibilities Hourly associates of varying classifications (Checker, Marker, Packer, Material Handler, Splitter, Loader, Unloader, Inductor, etc.).
