About the Role As Supply Chain Manager at H&B Defence, you will lead the delivery of supply chain planning and operational support across the organisation, ensuring integrated planning, inventory, and procurement activities that enable effective program and project execution. You will be accountable for the performance and results of the area, driving commercially sound and compliant planning activities while embedding continuous improvement. This role requires you to refine supplier qualification strategies, lead sourcing and onboarding efforts, and establish frameworks that ensure supplier compliance and performance. You will oversee the development of scalable supply chain processes, including material requirements planning, inventory optimisation, and supplier engagement strategies, ensuring continuity of supply and cost efficiency. Collaboration is central to the role, as you will work closely with commercial, operations, procurement, and quality leaders to align planning with project delivery and organisational priorities. You will also play a pivotal role in building internal capability, mentoring senior staff, and leading workforce planning across multiple teams. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to deliver robust planning outcomes, maintain a reliable supplier base, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and trade controls, all while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence.
Responsibilities Key duties include:
Developing and executing comprehensive supply chain planning strategies that align with project and organisational goals.
Managing supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance evaluation to support operational requirements.
Implementing and continuously improving material requirements planning, inventory optimisation, and supplier engagement frameworks.
Collaborating with commercial, operations, procurement, and quality leaders to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
Leading workforce planning, mentorship, and capability development across the supply chain teams.
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, trade, and security requirements, maintaining the integrity of the supply chain.
Driving measurable performance improvements and cost efficiencies while upholding a culture of safety, respect, and accountability.
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of stakeholder communications.
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines.
Significant exposure to all facets of the Supply Chain Function.
