We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Foreman to lead our Truss Shop team in the fabrication of metal plate-connected wood roof and floor trusses. As a key supervisor in our manufacturing operations, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure quality standards are met, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands‑on, full‑time role requiring on‑site presence at our facility. If you have a strong background in woodworking, truss assembly, and team leadership, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the truss production team, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation to meet production deadlines.

Oversee the fabrication process of wood roof and floor trusses using metal connector plates, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.

Train, mentor, and evaluate shop personnel to maintain high performance, safety awareness, and skill development.

Monitor inventory levels of materials such as lumber, metal plates, and hardware; coordinate with management to prevent shortages.

Conduct quality control inspections throughout the production cycle, identifying and resolving defects or inefficiencies.

Implement and enforce safety procedures, including the use of PPE, machinery operation, and hazard mitigation in compliance with OSHA standards.

Collaborate with engineering and management teams to optimize designs, resolve production issues, and improve processes.

Maintain accurate production records, including output metrics, downtime logs, and maintenance schedules for equipment like saws, presses, and assembly tables.

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in construction, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in truss fabrication or woodworking production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of metal plate connected truss systems, including reading blueprints, truss design software (e.g., MiTek or Alpine), and assembly techniques.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.

Familiarity with safety regulations, lean manufacturing principles, and quality assurance processes.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a shop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and production tracking software.

Preferred Skills

Experience with automated truss machinery and CAD software.

Certification in forklift operation or other relevant equipment.

Background in residential or commercial construction.

Compensation $18 - $26 hourly
