Job Summary As the Purchasing Manager, you play a critical role in ensuring the organization secures high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices—directly influencing project success, operational efficiency, and profitability. Your leadership shapes vendor strategy, strengthens supplier performance, and ensures purchasing activities align with broader business goals. By optimizing procurement processes, managing budgets, and building strong supplier partnerships, you help the company maintain cost control, increase reliability, and position itself for long‑term growth and competitive advantage.

Core Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational objectives.

Establish best practices that drive efficiency, cost savings, and consistency across procurement functions.

Source, evaluate, select, and onboard new suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing vendors, monitoring performance and addressing issues proactively.

Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and delivery schedules to secure favorable agreements.

Ensure contracts meet company standards for quality, service, and compliance.

Manage purchasing department budgets and oversee spend analysis.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing, improved processes, and innovative procurement methods.

Lead, train, and support buyers and procurement staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.

Manage departmental staffing, workload distribution, and performance evaluations.

Oversee purchase order creation, processing, and workflow accuracy.

Track supplier performance and ensure timely fulfillment of orders and services.

Ensure all procurement activities adhere to organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive forecasting and contingency planning.

Partner with logistics, operations, finance, and project teams to forecast supply needs and support business objectives.

Communicate inventory gaps, supplier issues, and risk factors to leadership.

Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies.

Recommend improvements and strategies to maintain a competitive procurement advantage.

Core Experience

Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally at the manager level.

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable pricing and terms.

Experience managing vendor relationships, evaluating supplier performance, and overseeing contract execution.

Budget management expertise, including cost analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Prior experience leading, training, or supervising purchasing or sourcing teams.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data‑driven purchasing decisions.

Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.

Proficiency with purchasing systems, ERP tools, and market research techniques.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills across departments and external partners.
