Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

Multimatic This is a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment requiring multitasking, excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to organize and prioritize. The primary function will be the coordination of incoming freight, verifying and ensuring the accuracy of all Multimatic and supplier‑owned returnable containers (totes, racks, pallets, lids, and bins). Responsibilities
Data accuracy Adherence to tight receiving window times & customer requirements Work with suppliers, vendors, carriers, and materials analysts to enhance freight utilization Understand the FIFO system and how it affects the supply chain Ensure all purchased components are labelled for inventory accuracy Monitor Multimatic New Haven and supplier‑owned returnable containers and expendable containers to minimize shipping costs Obtain and maintain a forklift license; operate safely and effectively, including driving and loading in confined spaces (e.g., trailers, narrow aisles, receiving docks) Utilize receiving and/or inventory software: unload/load, scan, receive freight; prepare shipping documents (BOLs, shippers, load sheets); verify parts and quantities with Vendor Delivery Report; send ASNs within the customer’s acceptable time window; process materials‑received paperwork according to procedures Backup to the Shipping Coordinator Work overtime (daily & weekend) as required Other related duties as assigned Key Relationships
Shipping Supervisor: provides direct supervision, assigns tasks, offers guidance, training, and instruction; receives detailed updates on all functions Materials Analyst: works closely to ensure the proper flow of purchased parts Carriers and Transportation Companies: maintains constant contact with dispatch and drivers to ensure timely pickups and delivery of trailers Other shift employees, supervisors, and management: interact daily to ensure all shipping requirements are met Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or GED Strong computer skills with Windows Office Suite, including Word and Excel SAP experience is a plus Traffic and logistics experience Fluent in spoken, read, and written English Self‑motivated and self‑directed; limited supervision Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment 2–4 years’ experience in shipping and/or receiving processes & procedures EEO Statement
