Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Service Advisor
Location: 770 11th Avenue, New York, NY 10019. The dealership occupies a 330,000‑square‑foot lot on 11th Avenue between 53rd and 54th Streets. It is the only Mercedes‑Benz dealership in the country owned and operated by Mercedes‑Benz, offering new and pre‑owned Mercedes‑Benz luxury vehicles and Sprinter vans.
Mission: The Service Advisor is responsible for service sales, gross profit, and proper handling of service customers. Their actions influence the volume of service business and are key to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Compensation: $80,000 – $130,000 per year (base salary). This position is heavily commissioned.
Responsibilities
Provide a consistently outstanding brand and customer experience through preparation, attitude, and teamwork.
Determine needed maintenance and diagnose the cause of malfunction or refer to a test technician as necessary.
Provide clear estimate for labor and parts.
If cost of service cannot be established during reception, determine diagnosis charges and contact customer for approval of final repair.
Follow up on progress of each repair during the day and contact customer for estimate and time changes.
Record changes on repair order in an approved fashion.
Handle telephone calls regarding work in process, appointments, technical and service related inquiries.
Compare final invoice with original repair order and analyze the quality control report.
Deliver vehicle to customer and make a pre‑delivery telephone call upon completion of repairs.
Handle all customer contacts in a professional manner.
Show enthusiasm and commitment to customer care to ensure satisfaction.
Inspect each vehicle during write‑up to verify the stated complaint and look for any needed additional work.
Ensure all sublets are handled through the Parts Department using the golden‑rod copy to the repair order.
Write up and follow new, used, and encore lease cars.
Prepare proper estimate in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Able to commute into and out of Manhattan/New York City on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years dealership Service Advisor experience.
High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work Saturdays.
Work holidays when required.
