Job Details Responsibilities / Duties
Perform in‑process inspections, first‑article inspections (FAI), and final inspections of components or assemblies using measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, etc.).
Analyze inspection data, maintain quality records, and prepare reports on quality audits, trends, and nonconformances.
Identify, document, and help drive root‑cause investigations for defects, nonconformances, and process deviations.
Work with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Assist in developing and maintaining control plans, inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality checklists.
Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, supplier audits), ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
Use statistical process control (SPC) tools, capability studies, measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools to monitor and improve process stability.
Participate in continuous improvement projects (lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to reduce scrap, rework, and cost, and improve throughput and yield.
Support supplier quality assurance, including incoming inspection, supplier audits, and corrective actions for supplier nonconformances.
Provide training and coaching to technicians/operators on inspection methods, quality awareness, and defect prevention.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certificate in quality, mechanical, manufacturing, engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Demonstrated experience (2–5 years) in a quality role within manufacturing (preferably precision, metal‑forming, or similar fields).
Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators) and familiarity with CMM or other automated measurement systems.
Understanding of quality principles and methodologies (SPC, MSA, root cause analysis, 8D, FMEA).
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications.
Ability to document and present quality data, nonconformance reports, and improvement proposals.
Good communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, quality/ERP systems).
