Overview The Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst is a developing professional role. This role identifies policy and applies specialty knowledge in monitoring and assessing processes and data. It integrates established disciplinary knowledge within its specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. The holder has a good understanding of how the team interacts with others to accomplish the area’s objectives, develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards, and exchanges information concisely and logically while being sensitive to audience diversity. Impact is limited to the team, with direct influence on the quality of tasks and services provided.
Responsibilities
Responsible for securities transaction processing execution.
Typically related to Securities Clearance Settlement and Derivative Operations.
Provide analytic support to traders and support review of derivative products.
Support a diverse array of product services.
Follow established procedures to identify and investigate settlement issues.
Assist in resolving problems by selecting solutions based on technical experience and precedents.
Deliver reports to satisfy management requirements, support control activities, and launch product services.
Assist in the implementation of process improvements.
Minimize risk to the bank by increasing procedural knowledge and monitoring errors to adhere to audit and control policies (incl. reconciliation, payment and other processing systems).
Manage and escalmate all requests, inquiries, and errors (mostly post‑settlement).
Demonstrate an intermediate level of understanding of products and processes and how duties integrate with team and related teams.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of bank‑related systems.
Utilize strong communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, exchanging potentially complex sensitive information while respecting audience diversity.
Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for Citigroup’s reputation, safeguarding clients and assets, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
0‑2 years of experience working in Operations, Reference Data or Middle Office.
Ability to work in a structured, high‑volume, time‑sensitive, high‑risk and demanding environment.
Good analytical skills and positive attitude.
Knowledge of macros.
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
