Strategic Planning Sr. Manager (Vertiv) As Senior Manager, Strategic Planning within Vertiv’s Americas organization, you will lead and coordinate business cross‑functional efforts necessary to improve the overall performance of the Switchgear and Busway business in the Americas. This high‑visibility position reports to the VP of Switchgear and Busway for the Americas. The scope of the role is broad and includes building analyses, crafting executive‑ready deliverables, structuring work plans, and drafting crisp communications that move decisions forward. Working alongside leadership in scaling the business through sustainable processes, role clarity and driving a culture of accountability are key elements of this role.

This position requires extensive interaction and collaboration across business functions including business leaders and subject‑matter experts.

Essential Job Functions

Deliverable creation: Develop structured analyses and presentations for high priority initiatives as required.

Analytical rigor: Ability to bring structure to ill‑defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations.

Communications skills: Ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively. Ability to draft executive updates, decision memos, and other briefs with consistent narratives.

Program management: Support program management for high priority initiatives including tracking KPIs, surfacing cross‑functional blockers, and driving issue closure with owners and timelines.

Business results: Desire to understand, influence, and support management of Switchgear and Busway Business.

Principal Responsibilities

Cross functional process alignment.

Work across functional departments to ensure that effective processes are in place from Order to Cash (OTC).

Along with leadership, assist with identifying areas of weakness or uncertainty with how our business is to be operated.

Facilitate cross functional Kaizen events to document current state operating models.

Work to document ideal state workflow processes.

Develop supporting RACI matrices for each process.

Identify waste and duplication of efforts across processes, be an agent of change.

Incident Management, Investigation & Review.

Investigate process / business incidents as assigned.

Without bias, gather all related details.

Prepare incident reports utilizing appropriate root cause, or other 8D, 5 why types of analytical tools.

Work cross‑functionally to identify possible corrective actions.

Present findings and recommendations.

Operational Excellence progress reporting.

Manage weekly executive report out cadence.

Conduct cross functional checkpoint sessions to ensure timely completion of KPI reporting.

Maintain and follow through on action items.

Support VP of Switchgear and Busway in day‑to‑day activities.

Participate in planning sessions and meetings as required.

Act as proxy as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology/Operations, or related field; MBA / MS a plus.

5-7 years of professional experience, tenure in a top‑tier management consulting firm, Corporate Strategy/FP&A/Operations, PE Ops, or high‑performing rotational program preferred.

Demonstrated experience building executive‑level presentations, models, and work plans for cross‑functional initiatives.

Advanced Microsoft Suite skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Travel Requirements As needed
