Job Description On a full‑time basis, the GMIT Manufacturing LAN/Operations Specialist team member is responsible for performing IT activities that support the business unit objectives of a GM manufacturing facility. The role provides on‑site support for basic and intermediate level application and device requests, manages and configures network devices and infrastructure, and offers on‑call assistance for network issues during off‑shifts.
What You’ll Do
Provide end‑user, network, infrastructure and application support as needed.
Respond to shift‑based IT incidents and coordinate resolution.
Build and support end‑user devices (PCs, printers, scanners, mobile phones, tablets, VOIP phones, Motorola radios).
Use remote PC management tools for software patching, asset management and change management.
Support GM‑managed LAN, WAN, WLAN, supplier networks, DAS, plant radio systems.
Participate in incident management, label printing, and assigned IT project tasks.
Work with business partners to ensure IT needs are met and interact with all workforce levels.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
3–5 years of IT experience supporting end‑user devices.
Manufacturing experience (preferred).
Experience supporting LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments.
CCNA certification (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Windows PCs and peripherals.
Knowledge of client hardware maintenance, Windows 10/11.
Experience with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
Familiarity with remote PC management tools (VNC, VPN, RDP, Bomgar).
Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, wireless APs, network analyzers and security fundamentals.
Understanding of VLANs, NAT/PAT, VPNs, IPsec, TCP/IP.
Layer 1‑4 switching and routing troubleshooting skills.
Basic Active Directory knowledge.
Knowledge of ITIL concepts and ServiceNow.
Compensation
Base salary: $81,000 – $123,000 per year.
Bonus: Incentive pay based on company, role and performance.
