Jr. Quality Control Inspector
– TAS Energy
Position Overview The Jr. Quality Control Inspector shall perform quality control inspection of structural and piping welding, piping fabrication and assembly of fabricated structures. Inspections include visual, dimensional, assembly, testing verification and occasional field inspection. The entry‑level role aims to develop a full understanding of the manufacturing and assembly of large engineered assemblies – welding, electrical, paint, testing and delivery to TAS customers.
Key Job Responsibilities
Perform visual inspection of welded parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable design requirements.
Interpret drawings, procedures, instructions and specifications to determine product acceptance.
Conduct dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies in the manufacturing facility, at suppliers or customer sites.
Monitor and record results of component testing (hydrostatic testing, coating, etc.), witness or process audits per documented procedures.
Prepare nonconformance reports and complete all required documentation.
Ensure documentation of inspection and testing is performed.
Assist in training other personnel as directed by management or task requirements.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the TAS Quality Supervisor.
Earn OJT hours toward Level I NDE Inspector for VT and MT.
Study NDE Level I materials for advancement in the Quality department.
Become familiar with best practices employed within the TAS QMS system.
Job Skills

Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and specifications.
Effective verbal and written communication with varied management levels, customers, vendors and staff.
Basic mathematics in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Problem‑solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions.
Apply common sense to execute instructions from written, oral, or diagrammatic sources.
Work independently under minimal supervision.
Use tools such as tape measures, micrometers, torque wrenches, OHM meters, etc.
Education & Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate’s Degree in Applied Science is a plus.
Minimum Requirements
Good command of the English language, written and verbal.
2 years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Preferred Requirements
Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control or quality management.
Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, IX, V, ASME B31.9, B31.5, ISO 9000, AWS Dl.1, SSPC or similar welding, construction and quality codes.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment The position is 80 % performed in a non‑temperature‑controlled shop environment. Responsibilities include exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, moving objects, and performing routine physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, and handling up to 50 lbs at a time. Visual acuity for color, depth perception, and field of vision are required for data analysis, computer use and extensive reading.
