Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Specialist to manage the flow of materials throughout our supply chain and support daily manufacturing operations. This role handles purchasing, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, ERP transactions, and weekly transfers between facilities. You will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse staff to ensure materials are available, accurately tracked, and efficiently moved throughout the facility.
Responsibilities Purchasing & Procurement
Create, issue, and track purchase orders for raw materials, components, and supplies.
Communicate with vendors on pricing, delivery dates, and lead times.
Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing data within the ERP system.
Monitor open orders and address delays or shortages.
Assist in sourcing alternate suppliers or materials when needed.
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
Support scheduled cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
Recommend stocking level adjustments based on usage and trends.
Investigate and reconcile inventory variances.
Material Transfers & ERP Transactions
Oversee weekly inventory transfers from the PA facility to Tempe, AZ.
Ensure all receipts, adjustments, and issues are accurately recorded.
Identify and correct transaction errors or discrepancies.
Material Handling & Operational Support
Assist with receiving, labeling, stocking, and organizing materials as needed.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor material requirements and ensure adequate stock levels for production.
Coordinate material movement between warehouses, production, and external vendors.
Maintain accurate material records in the ERP/MRP system.
Qualifications Required
Experience in inventory control, purchasing, materials handling, or related roles.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic computer applications.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred
Experience in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement practices.
