On-site Medical Equipment Service Technician On‑site Customer‑facing position in a STERIS facility in Bethpage, NY. Second shift starting at 3pm ET, may also support and service customers in assigned territory.

Overview At STERIS, we help our customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions. This role is a remote‑based customer‑facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment used in surgical procedures, and to provide installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical and electronic units.

Responsibilities

Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.

Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PM performance, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs and other duties.

Work with cross‑functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering and Service Contract Management) to upscale issues appropriately and utilize advanced technology platforms to complete compliance regulatory requirements and resolve and document troubleshooting issues.

Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options. Build relationships with Sales to drive customer experience and revenue opportunities. Identify sales opportunities in assigned territory.

Provide support to various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements and customer needs.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Associates degree or related certifications in a technical/mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered.

Valid driver’s licence and ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain vendor credentialing.

Customer and team engagement experience.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, email, navigation, mobile app, data entry into multi‑systems).

Ability to meet flexible schedules with potential overnights, early/late hours, based on customer and business needs.

Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Assessment and Promotional Opportunity After 18 Months of Service

Pay Pay range: $60,137.50 – $77,825.00. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than the listed range. Position is eligible for bonus participation.
