Responsibilities
Children’s Faith Formation: recruiting catechists, organizing class schedules, supervising enrollment, tuition collection, maintaining sacramental records, offering sessions for family members, ordering supplies.
Liturgy Coordinator: establish and organize a group of parishioners to create meaningful liturgical celebrations, including Sunday Masses, parish reconciliation services; cooperate with priests, deacons, and the Director of Music; regular contact with ministry coordinators; familiarity with Liturgical Norms.
Bereavement Ministry: supervise a group to bring comfort and assistance to those recovering from the loss of a loved one; regular scheduled meetings.
Care‑givers Support Group: supervise a group to offer support to home care‑givers; include in‑person and Zoom meetings.
Participation and Presence at major parish events.
Qualifications
Be a practicing Catholic; previous experience in a parish faith formation program.
Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and desire to spread the faith.
Clear understanding of Children’s Faith Formation approaches, methodologies, and strategies.
Familiarity with Church documents and teachings in faith formation and evangelization.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with clergy, staff, volunteers.
Willingness to share one’s own faith journey.
Compassionate leader; maintain healthy relationships with people of all ages; boundaries when necessary.
Familiarity with technology for catechesis, faith formation, and evangelization.
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, collaborative, organized; capable of juggling multiple projects.
Available to work evenings and weekends as ministry may require.
Previous experience directing a component of a Children’s Faith Formation program.
Knowledge of stages of human development and best practices in faith formation.
Education and Knowledge : Previous experience directing a component of a Children’s Faith Formation program; ability to apply knowledge of stages of human development and faith formation best practices.
The Archdiocese of Chicago offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Salary range: $48,000.00 – $58,000.00.
