We are looking for an Application Development Technical Lead for the ServiceNow platform. The Application Development Technical Lead designs, builds, and oversees the ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, etc.), leading development teams, ensuring best practices, managing integrations (APIs), mentoring junior staff, and translating business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions, focusing on architecture, governance, and platform health.

The Opportunity The ServiceNow Technical Lead in collaboration with the ServiceNow Architect is responsible for the technical solution architecture, delivery quality, and long‑term health of the ServiceNow platform. You will be the senior technical authority, translating business strategy into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions. You will guide developers, ensuring adherence to platform best practices, and partnering closely with product owners, architects, and partners.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring deep ServiceNow expertise, and strong engineering judgment. You will report to the Application Development Group Manager.

The Day‑to‑Day

Collaborate with the ServiceNow Architect in the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB and custom applications

Define and enforce platform standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with ServiceNow's Now Platform roadmap

Be a technical escalation point for complex platform issues, integrations, and performance challenges

Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, upgrade‑safe, and compliant with enterprise governance standards

Lead hands‑on development and configuration, including scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs), Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder, and data models

Review designs, code, and configurations to ensure quality, maintainability, and understanding of platform strategy

Work with product owners and partners to translate requirements into technical solutions

Guide technical planning for releases, upgrades, and major enhancements

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and administrators

Establish development standards, code review practices, and documentation expectations

Support onboarding and skill development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing

Promote a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement

Design and oversee integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Azure AD, Okta, Salesforce, monitoring tools) using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub

Ensure data integrity, performance, and observability across integrated systems

Partner with security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to align solutions

Support platform governance, including technical debt management, instance hygiene, and CMDB/CSDM understanding

Lead technical aspects of ServiceNow upgrades and feature adoption

Monitor platform performance, stability, and usage, driving proactive optimization

Your Qualifications

7+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, administration, or platform engineering

3+ years of experience in a senior or lead technical role on the ServiceNow platform

Deep hands‑on experience with ServiceNow scripting, APIs, data models, and workflows

Experience with ServiceNow architecture, best practices, and upgrade strategies

Experience leading technical design and guiding other engineers

Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions

ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS (ITSM/ITOM/HRSD/CSM), or CAD

Experience operating ServiceNow as a product or platform (CoE or platform ownership model)

Experience in large global enterprise environments

Background in Agile / Scrum delivery models

Stable, scalable platform performance with minimal technical debt

Consistent adherence to platform standards

Increased developer productivity and solution quality

Strong stakeholder trust in the ServiceNow platform

Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university or equivalent experience
