Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, support systems, and facility infrastructure. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of machinery to support continuous manufacturing operations. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, perform routine inspections, and support improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on production and facility equipment (CNC machinery, lasers, welding/fabrication tools, pneumatics, hydraulics, and utilities)
Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to schedules and maintenance plans
Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades
Complete maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs using the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Monitor equipment performance and report potential reliability issues
Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout, PPE, and OSHA compliance
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support process improvements
Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and a clean, organized work area
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school training preferred
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with CNC, robotics, or automated machinery a plus
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Welding, fabrication, and machining repair skills a plus
Experience using CMMS software and basic computer applications
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability
Safety‑focused and detail‑oriented
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, moving equipment, and temperature fluctuations.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as needed
