The Transportation & Logistics Manager at RICCA CHEMICAL COMPANY LLC is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's transportation and logistics operations. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods, timely delivery, and cost‑effective logistics solutions, aligning with the company's strategic goals and customer satisfaction standards. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation operations and reduce costs. Manage relationships with transportation providers and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing and service levels. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless logistics operations and address any logistical challenges. Monitor and analyze transportation and logistics metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation and logistics. Oversee the logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high productivity and morale. Collaborate with supply chain, production, and customer service teams to optimize inventory levels and delivery schedules. Implement and maintain safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment in all logistics operations. Prepare and manage the logistics budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals and objectives. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance logistics operations. Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management. Proven track record of managing supply chain operations in a chemical or manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory management and distribution strategies. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in transportation and logistics. Required Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to optimize logistics processes. Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple priorities. Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as transportation management systems (TMS). Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and stakeholder management. Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve operational goals and objectives. Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in transportation and logistics.
