Job Overview
Automated Processing Operator will perform all tasks associated with Kiln, Loader and Bulk Loading Lab. Reporting to a Lead person or Plant Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Conduct work in a safe, efficient manner, correcting and reporting safety issues, recognizing opportunities for improvement, completing near miss cards.
Complete pre-shift safety and general inspections of the work area, documenting in writing the inspection and any concerns on a standard form.
Generate necessary work orders and check completed maintenance work using the work order system.
Required to successfully become trained and self-sufficient.
Operate the Kiln, Lab, and Loader.
Assist operators, such as changing Rotex, Sifter Screens.
Back Up/Fill in for operators as needed.
Transport garbage to dumpsters.
Operate mobile equipment including forklift, front-end loader, and skid steer.
Assist in maintaining all equipment in the processing area.
Troubleshoot daily routine maintenance of equipment, including basic repairs and lubrication.
Perform basic repairs assisting maintenance personnel as needed.
Perform conveyor safety and maintenance.
Perform lock out procedures including knowledge of alarm systems and how to troubleshoot mechanical problems in the mill and dryer areas.
Keep work areas clean and free of clutter.
Participate in improvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Skills & Abilities
Must meet skills assessment requirements.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions).
Possess business conduct values.
Must possess basic mechanical skills.
Must be able to visually monitor electronic equipment, cameras, and control panels to be able to interpret the data and take appropriate actions.
Must be able to read and comprehend product specifications.
Must understand process controls.
Must understand all safety requirements and other communications.
Must have good verbal communication skills.
Must be able to use tools.
Must be able to enter data into computer databases.
Must be willing to make decisions within the scope of one's responsibilities and be accountable for those decisions.
Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently—duration of shift if necessary.
Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
Must be able to climb ladders up to 110 feet.
Must be able to talk and hear radio communications as well as phone.
Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
