Job Overview Processing Operator I is responsible for providing direction and troubleshooting in the processing group and performing hands‑on duties necessary to maintain and operate efficient processing. This includes working at the highest level of processing skills to which direction is being given.
Responsibilities
Understand internal customer needs and meet expectations.
Know the daily schedule and performance targets and meet expectations.
Maintain the highest level of processing skills.
Identify personal development needs and seek training to fill gaps.
Understand product specifications and modify processes to meet specifications, ensuring standards are met.
Provide guidance to others in the processing work group, including troubleshooting problems.
Operate, assist, or replace operators when necessary to maintain efficient processes.
Provide input to supervisor/manager on performance of team members.
Provide input and recommendations for fostering morale.
Guide individual work schedules of personnel assigned to the shift to meet daily objectives of safety, production, quality, and housekeeping; coordinate with the Processing, Packaging and Maintenance Supervisor to ensure clay supply to operations.
Accomplish equipment inspections as necessary and coordinate work orders and callouts of maintenance personnel to meet plant performance as defined by the Plant Manager.
Ensure areas are clean, free of clutter, and that all safety rules, regulations, and precautions are followed.
Perform all other duties assigned.
Qualifications Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
0 years related experience.
Must meet the assessment requirements for this position.
Skills & Abilities
Read, comprehend, and act on product specifications, SOPs, PWI, AIQ processes, and similar documents.
Have good interpersonal skills to provide leadership, including good verbal and written communication skills.
Understand the concept of ownership of the process.
Analyze data and direct team members to meet quality and production objectives.
Understand all safety requirements to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and precautions.
Willingness to work on rotating shifts and assist operators to maintain an efficient process.
Basic mechanical skills.
Visually monitor electronic equipment, cameras, and control panels, interpret data, and take appropriate actions.
Read and comprehend product specifications.
Functional understanding of process controls.
Enter data into computer databases.
Make decisions within the scope of responsibilities and be accountable.
Satisfy the spirit of WE CARE.
Stand for the duration of the shift.
Lift 50 pounds frequently.
Perform bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
All maintenance position requirements are guided.
Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, protective coveralls, and others as required by the environment.
