Field Operations Technician – Ledcor
Location: Houston, TX.
The Field Operations Technician will work on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Their emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best‑in‑class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. They will perform installation, repair, configuration and testing of moves, additions, changes and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, support customer optical, electrical, voice and data services, and test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).
Essential Responsibilities
Provide elite customer service to all.
De‑escalate customer concerns professionally.
Work on‑site at customer locations to install and repair internet, copper, fiber cabling, rack‑mounted routers, and demarcation extensions.
Identify, analyze, and provide solutions to technical issues such as installing cable runs, swapping cards, and installing data circuits for internet connections.
Maintain and adhere to Ledcor’s safety program with the use of all vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling.
A positive, can‑do attitude and customer‑focused approach that enables dealing with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
Degree or diploma from a technical college preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working independently in the field and thriving in a dynamic environment.
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
Work Conditions
Consistent Monday‑Friday schedule with choice of AM or PM shifts for work‑life balance.
Expected to travel with a company‑provided vehicle.
Physical requirements: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and all types of weather conditions deemed safe.
