We are looking for a skilled Field Operations Technician with over five years of experience in telecommunications. You will utilize your technical background to perform restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best‑in‑class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. You will perform installation, repair, configuration, and testing of moves, additions, changes and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment. In addition, you will support similar products for customer optical, electrical, voice, and data services, and test circuits using optical time‑domain reflectometers (OTDR).
As a Field Technician you will be part of a dynamic customer‑focused culture that provides the opportunity to work in a self‑managed environment, performing installations and repairs of telecommunications services.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide an elite customer service experience to all
De‑escalate customer concerns in a professional manner
Work on‑site at customer locations to perform installation and repair of internet, copper, and fiber cabling, rack‑mounted routers, and demarcation extensions
Identify, analyze, and provide solutions to technical issues such as installing cable runs, swapping out cards, and installing data circuits for internet connections
Maintain and adhere to Ledcor’s safety program with the use of all vehicles, tools, and equipment
Qualifications
Five or more years of experience in telecommunications, business installation, and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
Positive, "can‑do" attitude and customer‑focused approach that enables you to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
Degree or diploma from a technical college preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a dynamic environment
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills
Work Conditions
On‑call evening and weekend work required
Expected to travel with a company‑provided vehicle
Must meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and operating in all types of weather conditions that are deemed safe
