Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintaining and overseeing the Shooting Range Park; ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and to perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Public Administration;

and Four (4) years of shooting range experience;

and To include one (1) year supervisory experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Firearms Instructor Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid C.P.R. and First Aid Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Cash Handling Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire. Operational characteristics, services and activities of a Shooting Range program Modern and complex principles and practices of shooting range management Modern and complex principles and practices of firearms Principles of municipal budget preparation and control and purchasing rules and regulations Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions Operational characteristics of shooting range equipment Principles and procedures of record keeping Basic mathematical principles Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations Understand and convey shooting range park rules and regulations Understand safe and proper methods for handling firearms Supervise, organize, and review the work of lower level staff Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff Interpret and explain City policies and procedures Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public Prepare clear and concise reports Ensure compliance with applicable firearm rules and regulations Prepare clear and concise reports Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Communicate clearly and concisely Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
