Career Opportunity The Pre‑Services Coordinator will work at the Central Business Office in Henderson, Nevada. The role involves scheduling and pre‑registering new patients for exams and procedures while providing care to patients in a successful healthcare organization.

Scope Under general supervision, the pre‑services coordinator is responsible for scheduling and pre‑registering new patients for exams and procedures, maintaining patient records, preparing forms, verifying information, and resolving routine and non‑routine problems. The coordinator follows standard procedures, adhering to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

Answers incoming calls and assesses patients’ needs.

Schedules new patient appointments with the appropriate providers.

Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions.

Records call statistics in the New Patient Log.

Maintains and updates physician schedules.

Coordinates with triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests.

Obtains patient demographic, insurance, and pre‑visit information.

Enters patient information into computer systems.

Verifies patient insurance eligibility, benefits, co‑pays, and pre‑authorizations.

Mails or emails patients appropriate medical forms for completion prior to first visit.

Follows up proactively with patients on missing or outdated insurance information and copies of medical records and test results from other providers.

Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.

Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate’s degree in finance, business, or four years of revenue cycle experience preferred.

Minimum three years of medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.

Knowledge of practice daily routines, preferred. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position.

Demonstrates adaptability, work commitment, and commitment to quality.

Physical Demands Requires presence at employee site during business hours, sitting or standing, talking or hearing, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

Work Environment The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common oncology/hematology clinic conditions. The role involves in‑person interaction with co‑workers, management, and clients, with minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
