Career Opportunity In this role, you will serve as the pre‑services coordinator in our Central Business Office, Henderson, Nevada. Your responsibilities include scheduling and pre‑registering new patients for examinations and procedures while working closely with physicians and nurses.

Scope Under general supervision you will maintain patient records, prepare forms, verify information, and promptly resolve routine and non‑routine issues. You must follow standard procedures, adhere to US Oncology compliance programs, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and assess patient needs.

Schedule new patient appointments with the appropriate provider.

Provide patients with appointment details, including time, location, directions, and instructions.

Record call statistics in the New Patient Log.

Maintain and update physician schedules.

Collaborate with triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests.

Obtain patient demographics, insurance, and other pre‑visit information.

Enter patient information into computer systems.

Verify insurance eligibility, benefit coverage, and co‑pay amounts; confirm pre‑authorizations.

Mail or email necessary medical forms for completion prior to the first visit.

Follow up with patients on missing or outdated insurance information and required medical records.

Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, or four years of revenue cycle experience preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.

Knowledge of practice personnel and scheduling routines is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Completed required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting.

Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility, handling day‑to‑day challenges.

Strong work commitment and high standards of performance.

Commitment to quality and delivering excellent patient service.

Physical Demands Employees must sit or stand and talk or hear during business hours. Standing and walking for extensive periods, handling and lifting patients, and manual dexterity are required. Occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs. requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

Work Environment The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Interaction with coworkers, management, and patients occurs primarily in person, with minimal travel.
