Our client is a leading provider of integrated architecture, engineering, and construction solutions for the life sciences industry is seeking a Procurement Buyer to join their team on a contract to direct hire, full-time basis. This role plays a key part in supporting complex capital projects by ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned project scopes, from sourcing and bidding to purchase order issuance and delivery tracking.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to define procurement needs and priorities.
Issue RFQs and evaluate supplier bids based on technical compliance, pricing, lead time, and total cost of ownership.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract language with vendors and subcontractors to optimize value and reduce risk.
Coordinate logistics, shipping arrangements, and expediting to ensure materials and equipment are delivered on schedule.
Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier communications, and system records.
Support compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal procurement procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within the construction, engineering, or life sciences sector.
Strong knowledge of commercial terms, vendor management, and sourcing strategies.
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications is a plus.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
