Operations Project Lead – Heavy Transportation This role will be based in Summerville, South Carolina with frequent travel. Expected salary: $65,000 per year.

Overall Purpose The Operations Project Lead drives operational projects from concept to successful deployment, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational objectives. The role serves as the central point of coordination for project activities, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. Acting as a first responder to project and facility issues, the Lead provides rapid resolution to minimize disruptions while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.

Coordinate communication among internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain project clarity.

Develop and manage project plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk mitigation.

Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Monitor project performance metrics and implement corrective actions to meet quality and delivery targets.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and ensure seamless execution.

Prepare and present project status reports to leadership, highlighting progress and recommendations.

Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Respond promptly to urgent project or facility concerns to minimize operational disruptions.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Strong project management expertise, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

High adaptability and problem‑solving skills to manage evolving priorities and urgent operational challenges.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Speak and read in English.

Good communication skills.

Ability to multi‑task.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material.

Reliable transportation.

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet).

Data analysis and performance tracking expertise.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and process optimization.

Understanding of safety, regulatory, and quality compliance standards.

Work Experience – Minimum

Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, operations, or related roles, with a proven track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives and delivering results.

Track record of developing and executing detailed project plans, including performance monitoring and reporting to leadership.

Education Background – Minimum

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
