What You Can Expect In This Role Lead a multidisciplinary production design and video team to plan, prioritize, and deliver high‑quality design work that supports distribution channels and enterprise marketing objectives. Provide creative direction and hands‑on leadership across the full workflow—from intake and briefing through production, quality assurance (QA), and final delivery—spanning print, digital, email, social, and video. Drive effective prioritization, resourcing, and communication to maintain an efficient operation and a high‑quality, data‑informed output, while coaching and developing team talent.
What You’ll Do In This Role
Serve as a leader and production designer while overseeing the team responsible for production design, video production, operational forms development, print fulfilment, and the execution of marketing material production updates within marketing communications.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sammons Financial Group Companies marketing communications teams and other departments across the organization to create high quality, impactful creative that resonates with the target audiences.
Monitor package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners.
Serve as brand champion and subject matter expert (SME) resource for team for brand standards and creative design strategy through understanding of company brand standards, team and organization goals, The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, and current design trends, and regularly educate others on the creative team.
Participate in the production design work of print and digital marketing materials including but not limited to externally facing client and agent materials, projects in support of conferences and events, and special internal organizational projects.
Monitor market changes and technology enhancements to ensure the team's skills and work product is up‑to‑date and utilizes effective technology and processes.
Provide leadership for the team and assist team members with design production coordination; provide guidance and direction to prioritize and assign work by collaborating closely with contributors on the team and outside of it.
Oversee and direct team members who manage marketing operation platforms, including the print fulfilment center, forms, promotional item procurement, and design and production‑focused software tools and systems, such as Creative Suite, Getty images, etc.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure printing, inventory, fulfillment, and procurement procedures are managed appropriately and efficiently.
Oversee management of operations forms design, materials updates, and project management workflow for production design team.
Develop and follow timelines to ensure tasks are being completed on time.
Troubleshoot and identify resolutions as issues arise with both the creative team and the printer.
Facilitate coaching of team members to achieve personal growth and build collaboration and accountability across the team.
Ensure team members are knowledgeable of and trained on new marketing technology and innovations.
In partnership with other business units, oversee the company’s brand usage and design guidelines.

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field (Preferred)
Minimum 8 years’ experience in providing moderate to complex graphic design for print and electronic media (Preferred)
Minimum 5 years’ experience with print process and vendors (Preferred)
Online portfolio that demonstrates clear knowledge of print production, layout, and thoughtful, clean design (Required)
Experience or proven knowledge of the Insurance Industry (Preferred)
Experience in leading or managing people (Preferred)
Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, and online advertising along with knowledge of project management systems (Preferred)
Marketing project management experience (Preferred)
Strong leadership skills
Demonstrated knowledge of print processes and adept with software applications that include Adobe and Microsoft Office Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint) as well as experience working in automated marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Eloqua
Demonstrated strong initiative, organizational ability, communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and reprioritize constantly changing needs
Proficient in social, web, print, and email design
Excellent typographic and layout skills
Strong eye for detail
Ability to follow established brand guidelines and best practices
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling copy that sells
Command of Standard English usage including sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and excellent proofreading and editing skills
Ability to produce graphic communications for print or email on Mac
Advanced problem‑solving and design thinking skills
Outstanding organizational skills and leadership skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines and reprioritize projects as necessary
