Job Duties
Work hand-in-hand with the Regional Vice President and QA Nurses to clinically support the facility.
Provide in-service training on QI/PPS/Medicaid reimbursement.
Review medical records for accuracy for QI, MDS, and PPS.
Review findings of state Medicaid reviews for accuracy.
Complete the nursing portion of ADRs as indicated by the state’s review of PPS.
Review all resident charts monthly for changes impacting TILE, PPS, reimbursement, MDS, and QI.
Provide in-services to licensed nursing staff on accurate documentation of care to support PPS and TILE levels.
Train Directors of Nursing and nurse assessors on proper completion of 3652 forms and MDS.
Train business office managers on tracking levels of care for TILES and PPS.
Review all TILE level changes made by TDHS nurse reviewers and submit documentation for inaccuracies.
Review all PPS levels and IQ indicators.
Review monthly resident status reports, ensuring TILE levels match those calculated from the most recent 3652 form.
Determine reasons for expired levels of care identified on monthly resident status reports and review tracking system to identify causes.
Review electronically transmitted 3652 forms for accuracy and provide training/assistance in transmitting forms.
Review MDS and QI for accuracy and provide training/assistance in obtaining QI and submitting PPS.
Administrative Responsibilities
Attend and participate in all assigned meetings, training, education, and in-services as required.
Submit written reports identifying recommendations and observations in TILE levels, PPS, and concerns with QI and MDS to the Regional Vice President, QA, Director of Medicaid Reimbursement, the center’s Administrator and Director of Nurses.
Follow up on previous month’s recommended TILE level, PPS, QI, and MDS changes and identify these changes in a written report.
Meet at least monthly with the QA/Resource Team to review PPS control logs, Medicaid reports, and QI.
Attend monthly meeting with Director of Medicaid Reimbursement.
Attend IDT and PPS “stand‑up” meetings in the centers.
Conduct exit interview with Administrator, Director of Nurses, and MDS Coordinator to review contents of report.
Qualifications
Current nursing license in the practicing state.
Strong organizational and mathematical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in long‑term resident care Medicaid reimbursement, PPS, MDS, and QI.
Experience as a Director of Nursing in long‑term care preferred.
